Grazie David!

English translation:

The right time to publish his songs arrived at the age of 53, after a life spent wandering, doing thousands of jobs, fighting between despair and beauty, keeping closed within himself these treasures until the need to tell them to the world exploded unstoppable. A few months ago, when I heard the first time Available light, I was struck, so much passion and intensity that could be felt in every note of this wonderful debut. I was struck by his deep voice, dark, peaty as a good aged whiskey, hallmark of strong seventies taste ballads, dirty rhythm & blues scruffy and lazy, tinged with melancholy that brings the regret of lost things, mistakes and words unspoken.

I wanted to hear him live, without the filter of a disc, uncovered, without barriers. I had almost lost all hope, instead came the surprise to see him among the names on the bill to Buscadero Day, side by side with that of James McMurtry, who was also on his first Italian appearance. A unique opportunity because the friendly and informal atmosphere of the two days of Pusiano is the best way to discover new artists and enjoy freely an incredible amount of great music.

When I met him in the park shortly before his set, he seemed a bit disorientated as he looked around studying the colorful crowd of fans flocked to the event. The light in his eyes said the joy and the wonder to be there, to see realized a dream long desired and pursued. We exchanged a few words, just enough to find a nice and helpful person, and after taking the ritual picture, we said goodbye. David replied to my good luck with hand on heart: "I'll let the music do the talking."

Once he took the stage, David Corley has really taken advantage of all available light, playing the most of every single cartridge. Accompanied him Christopher Brown, the Canadian musician who discovered him and produced the album, and the Wild Connection, a Dutch band with which he played for the first time. Professionalism, fun and passion have made the success of a concert exciting and engaging. The direction of Brown on piano, the Hammond of Mike Roelofs, the insightful interventions of BJ Baartmans at the electric guitar and the energetic drumming of Sjoerd van Bommel were able to illuminate the ballads of Corley with a nice full sound, strong, and have skillfully reproduced the pregnant atmosphere of Available Light.

David looked us in the eye and conquered us with his seasoned voice and his real-life stories that are imprinted on the skin and in the heart with indelible marks. A palpable emotion involved the audience in the certainty to have known a true artist, sincere, who writes music with a capital M and transmits it with great love.

The most beautiful and profound sense of Buscadero Day is sharing moments like this with the many friends present here, moments who can pacify you with the world. We need so much beauty and here, on a warm summer evening spent by the lake of Pusiano, we found her. We watered, refreshed and stocked up for the winter. Thanks David!
